As you sit down in the tasting room, focus your mind and your five senses on what is about to happen. Make a conscious effort to be totally present and in the now-moment.
Look around you. Look at the room. Look at the bottles; at the glasses, look at the colours of the wine. Look at the food and the presentation. See the beauty, see the passion that went into creating and producing it.
Listen to what the Presenter has to say about the food and wine. Think about it; ask questions, participate and share your experience.
Touch the wine bottles and the glasses, feel the forms and the shapes.
Smell the food when they bring it in and smell each wine as it gets poured into your glass.
Follow the Presenter's instructions.Take a small bite then take a small sip. At the same time deeply inhale the flavours. Let it linger; slowly now; don't rush it, be totally in the moment...focus! Let the inside of your mouth and your tongue explore the flavors; savour it, compare it, appreciate it, taste it and then all of a sudden...euphoria! A new world is opening for you. A feeling of intense excitement, happiness and satisfaction has dawned over you. Magic!
The Culinaria Collection, available exclusively at Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards, is a celebration of the harmony in which food and wine complement one another – to create optimal enjoyment through mutual enhancement.
Join one of Leopard’s Leap’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic Wine Tasting Ambassadors on Friday mornings for the Culinaria Food and Wine Pairing – a tasting of the six wines in the Leopard’s Leap Culinaria Collection, each paired with an example of an ideal food partner.
All the wines in the Culinaria Collection are based on traditional French blends and are made with the specific focus of being exceptional partners to food. The Culinaria Food and Wine Pairing shows these wines with food that illustrates the skill of food and wine pairing, offering guests the ideal opportunity to enjoy well-matched combinations while getting to know the fundamentals behind making informed dinner table choices.
Once a month this Food & Wine Pairing is done with traditional South African food as depicted in the photos below:
The Culinaria Brut Méthode Cap Classique has a zesty vibrancy, capturing gentle citrus aromas that finish in softly lingering caramel, toast and nougat. Light and refreshingly dry in style, this wine lends itself beautifully to versatility in food-matching. A stylish complement where taste prevails. Paired above with bone marrow on toasted Bruschetta, pickled radish and parsley .
