Catharina's hosts Battle of the Bubblies at Steenberg

Winemakers John Loubser of
Silverthorn Wines and JD Pretorius of Steenberg Vineyards have challenged each
other to a duel at the ultimate Bubbly Dinner Battle at Catharina’s Restaurant
at Steenberg on Tuesday, 28 March 2017.
In honour of these top
notch Méthode Cape
Classiques, Catharina’s adventurous chef, Archie Maclean, has created a
beautifully paired 4-course menu that is sure to ignite an explosion of
flavours.
Silverthorn’s The Green
Man is perfectly matched with a salmon trout, orange and cardamom risotto. For
the Steenberg 1682 Pinot Noir MCC, roast duck breast with citrus gnocchi will
hit the spot. The dessert duel has Silverthorn The Genie served with a fragrant
rose petal and strawberry consommé, Szechuan pepper meringue and plum sorbet, pinned
against the Steenberg 1682 Chardonnay MCC paired with guanaja chocolate spheres,
espresso mousse and red velvet textures.
