Don’t miss out on the opportunity to taste a selection of rare wines with Paul Cluver Wines cellar master, Andries Burger, at this year’s Elgin Cool Wine & Country Festival (29 & 30 April).

The tasting, which will be presented in the barrel cellar on the 29th from 10am to 12pm, includes a cellar line up of vintage and current release wines, carefully selected by Andries and Managing Director, Paul Cluver.

This bespoke tasting will also include wines from the Cluver family’s private vinoteque collection as well as Andries’ Cape Winemakers Guild Auction wines and some international wines from Burgundy. A tasting you don’t want to miss. To allow for the ultimate rare wine experience the tasting is strictly limited to a maximum of 10 guests at a cost of R750 per person. Pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment.

What’s a festival weekend without mouthwatering food? Bangkok Street Food will be offering a variety of Asian-inspired delights from their famous food truck on both days from 9am to 5pm, at Paul Cluver Wines. The Thai chicken green curry is a must-try along with the Paul Cluver Gewürztraminer, whilst the vegetarian tofu Pad Thai is a winner with the Paul Cluver Riesling Close Encounter. Of course, you can’t miss the spring roll selection - and pair the delicious sushi platters with a bottle of the Estate Chardonnay! Purchase your favorite dishes and wines, and enjoy them under the trees in the estate’s garden. Pop into the Tasting Room for a quick tasting and snack as you make your way through the valley during the weekend, or bring your picnic blankets for a lazy afternoon of delicious food and superb wines. And while the adults take some time out the kids will be kept entertained with their own entertainment.
