Allesverloren wine estate, oldest producer in the Swartland, has recently released their first white wine, an iconic South African varietal, Chenin Blanc.

This wine demonstrates fifth generation owner Danie Malan and winemaker Wilhelm De Vries’ commitment to the pioneering Malan-winemaking tradition started in 1872.

The vineyards from which the fruit was sourced are situated on the north-eastern slopes of the Kasteelberg. The dryland, trellised vineyards benefit from optimum sunlight to produce an abundance of complex flavours.

The 2017 Chenin Blanc is a full-bodied wine with a creamy mouthfeel. It delivers a rich and layered palate with an abundance of stone and citrus fruit. These flavours are complimented with almond and ginger tones, all of which are well integrated with vanilla oak spice.

To celebrate the launch of this new wine and the beckoning of Summer, Food blogger Carey Boucher-Erasmus, Bits of Carey, has created two heavenly pairings with the wine – Smoked Salmon* with poppy seed dressing AND Honey and Thyme panna cotta*. Which one will be your favourite?

The Chenin Blanc is currently available from the Tasting Room and the online Vinoteque store and retails for approximately R65.00
