Fleur du Cap’s recently released Series Privée reaffirms its status as an inherent segment of the superior selection of the finest wines. Inspired by the exemplary ethos, “Freedom of Expression”, the range captures the true essence and flair of Fleur du Cap.

An innovative and exciting era in Fleur du Cap’s winemaking tradition, the Series Privée wines are presented with zeal and veracious elegance. The Series Privée wine offering includes the Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage and Merlot, and the white wine range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. These wines are the epitome of Fleur du Cap’s commitment to excellent winemaking, with the means to select only the finest grapes from vineyards throughout the Cape Winelands.

Fleur du Cap has the freedom to select regional vineyards where individual varieties best express their character and finesse.” Our Series Privée is a meticulous selection of the finest wines from our cellar and captures the essence of our vision, “freedom of expression,” says Pieter Badenhorst, Fleur du Cap’s winemaker.

The variety of climates, soil, altitude and slope orientation complements the winemaking process of the Series Privée wines as these are elements that play an integral part in capturing as much varietal character in the flavour as possible. Part of the winemaking process for the Series Privée wines involves handpicking the grapes and carefully de-stemming them by using a state-of-the-art sorting table, proof that mastery was at work when creating the quality wines.

Fleur du Cap wines are available at retail outlets nationwide, found on various restaurant wine lists and can be delivered to your door when purchased online through Vinotèque www.vinoteque.co.za/collections/fleur-du-cap.

About Fleur du Cap:

Fleur du Cap wines were first launched in 1968, shortly after the opening of Die Bergkelder, the famous mountain cellar which cuts deep into the Papegaaiberg in Stellenbosch. Built by Dr. Anton Rupert, it was the first underground bottle maturation cellar of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Die Bergkelder distinguished itself as an influential innovator in the wine industry. In the 1970s, the team played a pivotal role in establishing traditional noble grape varieties in the vineyards of the Cape and introduced the maturation of quality wine in small casks of new French oak. The launch in 1998 of the top tier Fleur du Cap Series Unfiltered range is a testament to this pioneering legacy.
