Leading industry authority Tim Atkin MW’s highly anticipated annual review of South African wine has been released, and Paul Cluver Wines has once again been awarded First Growth status, for the 7th consecutive year. 

In addition eight of their wines scored 90+, with the Seven Flags Chardonnay and Pinot Noir each receiving 95 points. The Noble Late Harvest Riesling scored an impressive 96 points.

Atkin, a British Master of Wine and accomplished wine commentator with extensive experience of South African wines, tasted just under 2 000 South African wines for his Special Report. Atkin's comprehensive 2018 South Africa Special Report runs to over 250 pages and is the product of two trips to the Cape earlier this year, as well as further tastings which took place in the UK and Germany.

Atkin sang the praises of the high scoring Noble Late Harvest Riesling, and stated that it was consistently one of the Cape’s greatest sweet wines.
