South Africa’s gourmet capital to host Fine Wine and Food Festival
07:46:00Stellenbosch chefs and winemakers unite for ultimate culinary showcase
Food and wine lovers have one opportunity to experience this incredible collaboration of talent: on Saturday 3 August, in Stellenbosch’s historical Town Hall, from 17:00 to 23:00.
The beautiful Stellenbosch region is regarded as the country’s gourmet capital. Home to South Africa’s best premium wines, as well as the country’s most awarded restaurants, it is perfectly positioned to present a festival which promises to captivate all senses.
Flexing its culinary muscles, The Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival will present guests with the ‘authentic taste of Stellenbosch’. Capitalising on Stellenbosch’s remarkable terroir which shapes its globally awarded wines, only wines made from grapes grown in the Stellenbosch region, and therefore certified as Wine of Origin (W/O) Stellenbosch, will be presented by the winemakers on the day. To these, Stellenbosch’s famous chefs, including Bertus Basson, George Jardine, Michael Deg and Michael Broughton, will provide expertly paired canapés for heightened tasting experiences.
Enabling an even bigger and better showcase of Stellenbosch’s best, is respected wealth management and financial services provider, Nedbank Private Wealth. This private banking institution is an active participant in the Stellenbosch community, and therefore a perfect partner for the festival. Richard Mulholland, Head of Nedbank Private Wealth, Coastal Region, commented: “Nedbank Private Wealth has been an active financial services provider in the Western Cape for more than 185 years. We recently launched our Stellenbosch office, providing the community with easy access to wealth managers and private bankers who can provide expert, personal financial advice to help people meet their objectives and make better financial decisions. Our new partnership with the Stellenbosch Wine Routes further embeds our involvement with the Stellenbosch community and the wine industry. Our work with the wine route and its many successful philanthropic initiatives has made an enormous difference to communities within the region.”
He added that global distinctive experiences, like the Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival, complements Nedbank Private Wealth’s services:“Just like the Stellenbosch Wine Routes strives to offer a globally distinctive experience for both locals and visitors, so too does Nedbank Private Wealth. We provide our clients with integrated local and global wealth management advisory services that include investment management, private banking, philanthropy, and insurance solutions, supported by a full range of world-class digital services and tools.”
With this major partner onboard, the Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival promises to be nothing short of remarkable: “This is truly a festival to rival all other festivals. Only the finest food and wine will be served on the evening, and to ensure an exceptional experience, only a limited amount of tickets are available,” said Elmarie Rabe, Manager of Stellenbosch Wine Routes, “we therefore urge guests to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!”
This festival also encourages visitors to stay longer and indulge in the pleasures of South Africa’s Wine Tourism capital, with its winter wine experiences. During the winter months, various activities and tastings will be offered by participating producers, restaurants and accommodation partners of the Stellenbosch Wine Routes, as part of their #VisitStellenbosch campaign. With enticing packages on offer, guests have every reason to combine The Stellenbosch Fine Wine and Food Festival with a prolonged stay! Visit www.wineroute.co.za for more.
