POSTPONED

The Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective (SCC) will be celebrating the King of Grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, with a harvest celebration on the tranquil lawns of Rust en Vrede on 21 March 2020.

The SCC Harvest Celebration will give the public the opportunity to savour the exceptional Cabernets from the region – the promotion of which is the main goal of the collaborative group of 29 members who form part of the SCC.

Guests attending this inaugural harvest celebration will be able to enjoy the distinctive quality of Cabernets from this celebrated wine district. Shaded by 300-year-old oak trees, guests are invited to savour the bounties of harvest as they tuck into a harvest-themed lunch prepared by executive chef Fabio Daniel, complemented by the best Cabernets the Stellenbosch region has to offer.

Apart from its exceptionally beautiful and tranquil setting, what truly sets this harvest celebration apart is that only Cabernets bearing the distinctive W/O Stellenbosch seal will be served at the event. Guests attending the Harvest Celebration will therefore have the opportunity to experience the distinct quality and characteristics of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon which has earned it its international appeal.

The harvest-style lunch will be complemented by an exclusive selection of Cabernet Sauvignon magnum bottles, some which will be specially bottled for the occasion, from the 29 SCC members and winemakers.

“We wanted an opportunity to show like-minded Cabernet lovers what Stellenbosch has to offer in a way that really allows them the opportunity to show their best whilst relaxing in an informal setting with delicious food and fantastic company,” says Christo le Riche, SCC chairman.

“We have such a special terroir in Stellenbosch for crafting world-class Cabernets and many of our wines are achieving international acclaim. We hope that through our combined efforts we can see Stellenbosch Cabernet taking its place amongst the best in the world. Some of the magnums we will be pouring at this lunch have been made especially for this event and will never be seen again,” he continues.

The SCC Harvest Celebration starts at 12:30 on Saturday 21 March 2020. Tickets cost R950 per person and include live music and a three-course family-style lunch served with an extensive selection of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tickets are regrettably limited and on sale now at quicket.co.za.
