Anthonij Rupert Estate is delighted with the recent announcement of further acclaim for their L’Ormarins Cap Classique wines, receiving Gold at the 2020 Amorim Cap Classique Challenge.

The results were announced on 30 September.

The sought after accolade was awarded to the L’Ormarins Brut Rosé NV, which was also acknowledged as the Best Rosé in this year’s competition.

“With a record number of entries received this year, it’s been incredible to see the amount of new players in the industry trying to perfect the art of Cap Classique.” says Amorim South Africa MD Joaquim Sá.

“It is wonderful to receive this recognition and confirmation that we are on the right path with our continued dedication to pursuing best practices and innovative techniques,” says Anthonij Rupert Wyne MD Gary Baumgarten. “Making quality Cap Classique wines requires long term commitment, and we therefore celebrate the fact that winemaker Zanie Viljoen who has made our Cap Classique wines from the start is finally being recognised for her commitment to produce the best”

With a firm eye on the future of South African Cap Classique wines, and total dedication to producing world class products, Anthonij Rupert Wyne invested heavily in updated technology in both their Cap Classique cellar and bottling facilities over the last five years. Meticulous care is applied in vineyard management and viticultural practices with the bulk of grapes sourced from the company’s Altima estate. As one of South Africa’s highest altitude vineyards, the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes produced from this estate deliver unprecedented flavour intensity partnered with the crisp acidity so essential in Cap Classique wines.

Crafted and created with true passion the L’Ormarins Brut Rosé NV delivers outstanding quality with a constant stream of fine bubbles. Delicious aromas of raspberries and strawberries on the nose follows through to a palate which is alive with bright red berries and crisp acidity. There is great equilibrium with the rich, creamy and lees notes which are as a result of second fermentation.

Without a doubt the L’Ormarins Brut Rosé NV is an essential summer wine must have, which is available directly from the Tasting Room at R150 per bottle (online via www.rupertwines.com), or select specialist retailers nationwide.
