Piekenierskloof Wines recently debuted its latest addition to the beloved Six Hats wine-range in the form of two de-alcoholised wines, a white and a red blend.

With the fast-growing trend for mindful drinking, these refreshing de-alcoholised wines will easily become a new favourite. With our Six Hats range providing consumers with easy-drinking wines, this duo complements the range perfectly, especially during occasions where one has to watch your alcohol intake or prefers to enjoy something on the lighter side.

The Six Hats de-alcoholised White, a Chenin Blanc, is light in colour with hints of tropical flavours, the only change being the alcohol level that has been reduced gently to less than 0.5% ABV before bottling.

With a well-balanced, and exciting blend of Tempranillo, Tannat and Tinta Amarella, the Six Hats de-alcoholised Red provide a dark ruby-red colour with aromas of ripe red fruit and caramelized popcorn on the palate.

Six Hats De-alcoholised White 2020
The best way to enjoy these everyday de-alcoholised wines (both red and white), as suggested by Carmen Niehaus, Food writer & cookbook author, is to enjoy them ice-cold, with an ice cube or two. Perfect for warm summer days and ideal to take along on holiday, the white blend can be paired with crispy salads, quiches and braaied fish, whilst the red blend will go well with red meat and pasta dishes, such as lasagna, or even a piece of chocolate cake or berry trifle for dessert.

Carmen further adds that these de-alcoholised wines were envisioned as a unique addition to the Piekenierskloof Wines family and are to be enjoyed as such – they are the ideal accessory to a picnic and/or ‘padkos’ basket; the perfect light drink to serve at a lunch or brunch; the ultimate (wine) substitute at a baby shower, braai or dinner party – and also an excellent match for take-outs and no-fuss pizza or hamburger nights.

As a newcomer to the carefully selected range of Piekenierskloof wines, these de-alcoholised blends are the perfect wine alternative to serve at your Christmas lunch, New Year’s Eve party or any get-together during the festive season.
