Situated in Somerset West, against the foothills of the impressive Helderberg Mountains, you’ll discover Morgenster Estate.

A little piece of Italian heaven offering visitors a stellar wine range, award-winning extra virgin olive oils and bespoke experiences.

Their contemporary tasting room perched on the edge of a dam is a haven of delights. Launched late last year, their seasonal bespoke ‘Aperitivo’ offering (available Thursday to Saturday between 4:30pm and 6:30pm) is the perfect pre-dinner experience. Sample morsels of Italian-inspired bites, paired with their award-winning wines, whilst taking in the beautiful surrounds. Available until the end of April at R65 per person (excluding wine).

Morgenster Estate is not only home to fine wines, but also world-class extra virgin olive oils. Whether you are already a fan or haven’t experienced it yet, their Olive Oil Tasting will no doubt be a memorable experience. Included in the cost of R75 per person is a tasting of their four extra virgin olive oils and their balsamic vinegar, alongside two olive varieties and pastes, freshly baked bread and schiacciatine.

Should you wish to combine the Olive Oil and Wine Tasting, the cost is R115 per person.

The wine tasting offerings are endless

For those preferring just a wine tasting the offerings are endless. Choose between the Bordeaux Style Tasting, The Giulio Range Tasting or the Single Cultivar Tasting for the ultimate wine experience.

Saving the best for last is the Italian Experience (at R445 for two people sharing), which includes a tutored Olive Oil Tasting, an Italian style platter and a bottle of your choice from the Giulio Range.

With the exception of the ‘Aperitivo’ offering these tastings are available Monday to Saturday (9am to 5pm) and Sunday (9am to 4pm). Closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day.
