Last launched in 1993, Blaauwklippen is proud to announce the relaunch of their much-loved Chardonnay 2022.

With the warmer weather gently knocking on our doorsteps, this is one you certainly want to add to your Summer list of wines to stock up on.

Only the finest grapes were used to create this masterpiece and were sourced from vineyards in the Blaauwklippen valley as well as the Helderberg region, known for their rich decomposed granite soils. The grapes were hand harvested before being whole bunch pressed to ensure that the quality of the juice was retained. Left to settle for 24 hours and then racked in a combination of 228-litre and 300-litre French oak barrels for barrel fermentation which lasted approximately two weeks. During the in-barrel maturation period of 11 months, battonage was done every fortnight. Only 22% of new oak was incorporated into the final makeup of the wine.

According to winemaker Narina Cloete, the 2022 Blaauwklippen Chardonnay, showcases rich citrus, orange blossom and yellow flower aromas, which merge with nuances of yellow peach and Crème Brûée. The wine’s fresh acidity combines with the rich and creamy mid-palate to finish with a lingering mineral core. A wine to enjoy on its own, or serve with Thai and Indian curries, or even a freshly seared Tuna steak.

Currently available directly from the Tasting House at R200 per bottle or from select outlets nationwide.
