This week’s weather forecast not only brings with it the chill factor but wanting you to seek warmth in comfort food.

Mother Nature’s timing couldn’t have been more perfect as it coincides with Morgenster Estate’s restaurant launching their winter-inspired menu on Friday 7th of June.

In keeping with their Italian heritage visitors can look forward to a couple of favourites, which have remained on the menu, as well as new delicious additions. Popular dishes include the prawn linguine and the Bresaola with rocket and goat’s cheese, complemented with Morgenster’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Winter-inspired dishes include Sicilian arancini (crispy rice balls with cheese and peas and a homemade tomato sauce). What would winter be without a succulent lamb shank, that you’ll find on this season’s menu, which has been slow-cooked in red wine and served with seasonal vegetables? For those opting for a chicken dish, the Chicken piccata served with leeks, olives, and crispy sweet potatoes are guaranteed to hit the spot.

Be sure to save space for dessert as Morgenster’s signature Tiramisù is back, and will no doubt sell out fast again. Best to put your order in before you even glance at the menu.

The restaurant offers exquisite views of the mountain range and serves as exhibition space for artist Nina Holmes’ latest works of art. Entitled Passages, in collaboration with Eclectica Contemporary Gallery, Nina’s works will be on display in the restaurant for the next few months and are truly magnificent works of art.

During June the restaurant will be open for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, and only on Friday and Saturday for dinner.
