For the fit and active, be there early and take part in Groote Post’s 4th Country Run. What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with a Country Market and a Trail Run?
Guests can expect delicious and beautiful country offerings including artisan foods, arts and crafts, homeware, clothing, décor, gifts, jewellery, accessories, toys, fresh produce and more. Local is always lekker at Groote Post, with a divine selection of Darling gourmet produce including: Weskus Worswa, Darling Honey, Burger Fellas, Darling Sweet, Nellies Homemade Pies, the popular Darling Brew and of course Groote Post’s well-loved wines. Look out for popular newcomers to the market such as Sunshine Food Company’s Vegan Stand, Najo's Mexican Street Food and more…
After browsing through the market, relax on the beautiful lawns under the trees tucking into yummy treats from the market and enjoying the popular music and entertainment provided by DJ Riaan from Old School Entertainment.
The market as always presents a perfect playground for children who will love the rolling lawns and popular playground as well as the tractor rides, guided horse rides and more…
Groote Post’s award-winning restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen, will be open as usual, but please note that booking is essential.
The Groote Post Market is an outing for the whole family including one’s furry children, but dogs must please be kept on a leash at all times.
There are 3 Lucky Draws at every market - at 12h30, 13h30 and 14h30. The winners will each receive a hamper with products from the market and wine from Groote Post, but you must to be at the draw to win. The 3 winners from each market will go towards a BIG DRAW at the end of the season. The lucky winner will win a 2x night stay in Yzerfontein. Please note the overall winner must be at the last market in April 2020 to win the big prize.

Directions
Follow the R27, the West Coast Road towards Langebaan. Turn right onto the Darling Hills Road opposite Grotto Bay turnoff. After 10 km, turn right to the Groote Post cellar. Alternatively, take the R307 out of Darling towards Cape Town and turn off at the Darling Hills Road. After 7km turn left to the Groote Post Cellar.

The Groote Post Country Run will give you an early start leading into the market. So, put some spring in your step with a choice of three trails, all featuring stunning views of mountains and the ocean:
21km Bobbejaanberg Challenge: Entry Fee R220
10km Atlantic View Route: Entry Fee R170
4km Ommie-Dam Fun Run: Entry Fee R50
Registration opens at 06h00 and the first runners head off at 07h00. Coffee and breakfast will be on offer as well as a secure, supervised Kid-Zone where runners can leave their little ones in the care of experienced child-minders. The finish line is always a welcome sight as the festive atmosphere of the market greets you on your return. There are shower facilities for those wanting to freshen up before taking on the market and relaxing into an easy summer afternoon.
