Boland Cellars in Paarl, widely recognised in the wine world for its quality tradition of almost 80 years, recently gained other top honours at the 23rd Michelangelo International Wine Awards.

The cellar's unique Cappupino Ccinotage received a platinum medal as the overall winner in the category for 'Best Coffee Pinotage'.

"We at Boland, and that includes our producer members, our staff, our local community and our suppliers, are proud of this prestigious achievement. This award follows soon after the five medals achieved by our wine-making team at the 2019 'Ultra Value Wines' Competition", says CEO Heini Smit. He continued: "The Michelangelo Awards have over a period of two decades been proved as South Africa's top independent international wine competition, judged by a tasting panel of globally recognised wine experts, and that is reassuring".

Exceptional wine type

A 'coffee-style' Pinotage is the best way to describe
Boland's Cappupino Ccinotage. This connoisseur's product with exceptionally soft mocha and coffee flavours and undertones on the palate is gaining increasing popularity with both wine-lovers and wine fundis, also in other parts of the world. A recent quote reads: "It's a seductive experience which focuses on softer mocha and ground coffee flavours for a unique, easy-drinking wine that we find ourselves reaching for again and again".
