Summertime is fun time and we have seven spectacular options for enjoying exceptional wine experiences in the heart of the Cape winelands. Award-winning wines, outdoor dining and even accommodation options make Paarl the ideal summer destination.

Visit Landskroon wines for their great value-for-money food and wine pairings as well as superlative views from their outside seating area. The Heritage and 5 Pauls tastings combine Landskroon wines with delicious local produce.

Perdeberg Winery offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere for the whole family with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Adult pairing options include marshmallow and chocolate pairings, while kids can enjoy their own tasting boxes with cookies, popcorn, meringues and fruit juice or have fun with cookie painting. Enjoy perfect summer meals from Eat@Perdeberg or a picnic basket for two – their braai picnic is definitely not to be missed. Bookings are essential and require a deposit 48 hours in advance.

The rolling lawns shaded by oak and willow trees make Rhebokskloof Wine Estate a super summer spot with wine tastings, a recently renovated restaurant and picnic menu. This family-friendly destination is ideal for visitors of all ages. Various activities include quad bike rides, horse riding and various MTB tracks as well as a jungle gym for the kids.

Spice Route destination has created an adventurous tasting journey by thirteen artisans and include gin, beer, chocolate and wine tastings as well as various cuisines and of course, the handcrafted Spice Route wines.

The family-owned Under Oaks produce fine boutique wines that are available for tasting in their tasting room with luxurious guest accommodation and a popular pizzeria with the authentic atmosphere of a real working farm and vineyards.

Ridgeback Wines are surrounded by the rugged magnificence of the Paarl mountains and pay homage to the Rhodesian Ridgeback, which is believed to have evolved from the hunting dogs of the indigenous nomadic tribes. Enjoy their wide selection of wines on the restaurant’s deck overlooking the tranquil dam teeming with fish and waterfowl, including graceful swans. Beautifully appointed rooms allow visitors to saviour the experience of an extended visit.

Boasting some of the most impressive vistas in the region, Pearl Mountain Wines welcome visitors with hand-crafted boutique wines and the chance to dine in a renovated blacksmith’s cottage dating back to 1747. The farm has been in Retief family for five generations and the cosy Blacksmith’s restaurant serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu as well as delicious pizzas from their wood-fired pizza oven.
