Discover one of Perdeberg’s hidden gems at this year’s Pinotage & Biltong Festival
07:52:00After more than two years of no festivals the team at Perdeberg Winery are getting the farm in tip top shape, ready to welcome visitors back for the popular Pinotage & Biltong Festival.
The event, which takes place over the weekend of 23 and 24 April, promises to be a fun day for young and old.
Situated at the foothills of the Paardeberg Mountain in Paarl, this weekend is the perfect excuse to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Not only will you get to sample some of the country’s finest Pinotage wines, paired with a range of biltong products, but a weekend highlight will be the chance to taste Perdeberg Winery’s Endura Winemaker’s Selection Cape Red, which is not usually available for tasting. A gem indeed, the current vintage shows notable elegance with a fine tannin structure, intense colour and fruit forward flavours, all of which indicates impressive ageing potential.
Another gem from the Perdeberg range not to miss out on is the Dry Land Collection Resolve Pinotage, which is guaranteed to be the highlight in any wine collector’s cellar. On the nose this wine shows a distinctive spiciness with undertones of fresh cherries and strawberry cordial. The palate boasts ample fruit and charisma, with a luscious tannin structure which will evolve in taste and texture over the coming years.
These two showstoppers, together with other wines in their portfolio as well as well their craft beer range and bubbly will be available throughout the weekend’s festivities.
Do not forget to don your Purple and White outfits to blend in with the atmosphere!
